The Emergency Medical Services provided to the residents of Dillsburg and the surrounding communities are an integral part of Citizens' Hose Company No. 1 of Dillsburg (aka: Dillsburg EMS).
Dillsburg EMS currently provides one twenty-four (24) hour ambulance for Dillsburg Borough, Carroll Township, Franklintown Borough, Franklin Township, Wellsville Borough, parts of Washington Township, parts of Warrington Township, and parts of Monroe Township. The ambulance is supported by generous contributions and through the necessary billing of insurance companies and transported patients.
The ambulance is staffed by both volunteer and paid personnel. A 'standard' ambulance crew contains two providers--of which one is a Pennsylvania certified Emergency Medical Technician-Basic (EMT). Generally, both providers are EMTs, however occasionally the driver is an emergency responder or a first responder.
Like the fire department, we are always looking for people who would like to volunteer their time by helping others in need. If you are interested, please feel free to fill out an application or call Traci Cook at 432-3281 during normal business hours.
